Banda Estação 12 was formed in 2008 after the departure of guitarist Roberto Barros from the band Ceremonya, a band in which he stayed for a year traveling through several cities in Brazil. After he left, Roberto Barros invited a great friend named Fábio Fernandes to start a new project, where the main focus was to be a Catholic Worship and Pop Rock Band.

Fábio Fernandes, who was the lead singer of Banda Shema Israel and had a great experience in retreats, preaching, and Masses, was perfect for the Band’s intention, which went beyond the desire to play shows. Soon the two began to meet to compose and arrange songs that would be in a future first work. The two had the idea of inviting one more vocalist, which would give even more the form of ministry that was intended. So, they invited a great friend in common called Leandro Ribeiro who also had extensive experience in retreats, Masses, Meetings, preaching etc. Leandro, in addition to assuming several Masses in the Nossa Senhora da Lapa Parish in Cubatão, is part of the coordination of Retiro TLC ( one of the biggest retreats in Brazil).

The three friends decided to name the band, which was no longer just a project but a reality. Among several names that emerged, they decided to name ESTAÇÃO 12. The meaning of the name is linked to the Via Crucis of Jesus Christ. Jesus died for all of us at the Twelfth Station, so that we might know true Love; the Love of the Father. God gives his son to die in our place, But Jesus gives himself to death Freely For love of all of us. In 2014, they recorded their debut “Abra-te” at the Noname studio, winning several awards such as the Louvemos Trophy 2014, winning in the best album category.
